One of the biggest trends for movies these days is 3-D, consumers are paying higher prices for 3-D movies in the theaters even in the recession. As more and more movies are released it is only time before these movies make it to the home. In order to work in the home a 3-D TV is needed for the full enjoyment of these movies, but will consumers by new TVs.

Microsoft has kicks things up with the pending release of the Zune HD, this new version has advanced graphics and operation over previous Zunes. Some the highlights are the use of an OLED screen, new graphics technology from Nvidia, friendly user interface and the ability to play HD content. With these features Microsoft will have a product comparable to the Apple iPod Touch. But are cool features and comparable operation enough for Microsoft to take a bite of Apple and gain market share??

At the beginning of August several studios began stating that Redbox which is owned by Coinstar will not be allowed to access DVDs for rental until 30 days after the initial release. Statements from 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios Home Entertainment site the lower rental costs through Redbox kiosks and the increased number of used DVDs in the market has an effect on sales and the studios quality image.
