Donald S. Holcombe is an Area Manager of Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. Field Operations with Qwest Communications. He has 23 years of experience in the telecommunications field involving equipment design, installation and maintenance. He is responsible for a long haul fiber optic backbone route, metropolitan fiber rings, numerous POP Sites, hosting centers, and customer premise sites. He is experienced in equipment installation and maintenance in POP sites, web hosting and collocation, outside plant maintenance, fiber optic splicing, hosting and colocation, Nortel SONET equipment from OC-3 to OC-192 with DWDM, Gigabit Ethernet systems and testing, Ciena/ONI transport systems, Corestream and Metro DWDM equipment, Fujitsu, Infinera, Cisco/Cerent transport gear, Lucent ROADM and optical transport equipment, Infinera optical networking equipment, Tellabs optical networking gear & Titan DACS, and also DC power plants.
