Mr. Stanley Fortgang

Council Member Biography

Stanley Fortgang is an independent financial consultant specializing in fixed income, who has over 25 years experience as a trader at global investment banks. Mr. Fortgang began his career in 1985 at First Boston Corp, before moving to Goldman Sachs in 1990. In 2001, he became Head of Financial Sector Trading at Morgan Stanley, where he was promoted to Managing Director. Mr. Fortgang then moved to Jefferies & Co, to assist in a build out of their credit trading before retiring from active trading in April 2009. During his time on Wall Street, he participated in the development of the fixed income markets from a small business into a multi trillion dollar sector of the markets including derivatives and structured products. Mr. Fortgang was also actively involved in the syndication and marketing process and interacted daily with all major institutional clients across the investor spectrum. He has a wide breadth of knowledge about the financial industry and speaks with market participants on a regular basis. (This is me - Update Profile)
