Chinese court rules against Microsoft | edition.cnn.com

China's reputation among the leading suppliers/global players like Microsoft , Motorola Inc. and Apple does not carry much credence with respect to numerous IPR battles taking place locally. In spite of high level representations by diplomats,trade/commerce officials and leading politicians, China seem to have turned a deaf ear to complaints and maintained their self righteousness. This does not augur well for China and its future trade prospects with the west.

West Virginia protests Frontier's Verizon acquisition | www.fiercetelecom.com

The gloves are coming off one final time between Verizon and West Virginia.  The state is probably going to be so relieved to get Verizon out that it will likely play ball with Frontier.  It would hardly be an exaggeration to say that the relationship over the years between the two parties has been acrimonious.

Logitech Acquires LifeSize Communications for $405MM with HPL President Howard S. Lichtman's Thoughts and Analysis | www.telepresenceoptions.com

By purchasing LifeSize Communications, Logitech gets to bundle LifeSize's HD standards-based videoconferencing codec with Logitech HD webcam.  This should, overtime, dramatically lower the price-point of standards-based videoconferencing end-points and expand the distribution of standards based videoconferencing end-points to the Big Box Retailers that carry Logitech peripherials including Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart.

AT&T Rebuts Verizon Ads, Again | blogs.wsj.com

Nothing illustrates more the state of disarray at AT&T than this bungled attempt to dispute Verizon Wireless’ claims. AT&T apparently even has trouble settling on a unified public relations/marketing response. The service provider just did not want the world to know about the disparity in 3G coverage between the two carriers.
