DVI is a VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association) standard interface for a digital display system. DVI sockets are found on the back panel of AIBs and some PCs and also on flat panel monitors and TVs, DVD players, data projectors, and cable TV set-top boxes. DVI was introduced in and uses TMDS signaling. DVI supports High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection, which enforces digital rights management (see HDCP).
