Summary

Microsoft continues to roll out features for its Bing search engine, and Google seems to be able to leapfrog them without a second thought.

Analysis

Google has a massive R&D effort, well managed, and a terrific team of innovators.  At any given time they have dozens of new features in various stages of testing and rollout.  Whenever Bing attempts to gain attention and market share by adding something new, Google is going to be able to shift the focus back to their offering: they simply have more depth.  Bing's recent "innovations" are just new ways to sift information, and it's information Google already has... so it doesn't take much for Google to re-sift, too.  With the acquisition of Powerset, Microsoft gained new expertise in semantic search, but its potential has yet to be fully realized.  Until then, new features on Bing are simply tweaks, and you can expect Google to remain ahead in the tweak contest, effortlessly.
