It is time for Microsoft, Adobe, Corel and many others to either offer new breakthroughs or to drastically lower their prices.
Analysis
Many CIO’s would stand in a freezing snow storm for hours waiting to buy Window’s 7 if it eliminated the need for virus scanners. I don’t know one CIO who is anxiously awaiting Windows 7. Fortunately for Microsoft, the IT community wants compatibility. CIO’s will reluctantly buy Windows 7 if over the next few months it proves to be both popular and trouble free.
Reluctant purchasers are tough negotiators. Microsoft should count on very hard bargaining that includes the next version of Microsoft Office.
