Review of recent article on biofuel viability

Analysis

There are several drawbacks in the production and utilization of biofuel as alternative to standard fuel. On the other hand there are drawbacks also with standard fuels.
Biofuels are meant to complement production and became very popular during the last crude squeeze. The main reason a viable home produced and less polluting supply alternative. However, when looking at the integrated cycle of biofuel production and utilization chain, pollution is inevitably there and marginally better than in the standard fuel case. Nevertheless, important fuel substitution plans were drafted, important decisions taken and made operational over the last two years. Among another reasons the importance and convenience of biofuels as feedstock and the re-utilisation of abandoned soils and farms for biofuel production,
The critical issue with biofuels, especially for countries that came late on the market unlike Brazil and especially other  countries that are caractherised by cheap and unskilled labor, is its economics as well its social impact. To this end, although biofuel represents a new and very important energy segment in certain countries, it remains economically marginal in more developed countries where it needs important subsidies to strive.
