Expert Insights on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is voice communication over an internet protocol (IP) network, such as the internet. The voice is converted to a digital signal, which is sent through the internet, and then converted back to a voice. There are three ways to make VoIP calls today: ATA (Analog Telephone Adaptor), IP Phones, and computer-to-computer. Many service providers offer unlimited long distance for a monthly fee and free calls if using the computer-to-computer option.

Gerson Lehrman Group Council Members are available to discuss Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) via phone consultations, live meetings, surveys, and other custom GLG products and services.
